and for the past two years the only thing that I have spent money on is oil changes and gasoline. I got the car with 50K and now have over 70K and it's great. As a present and past owner of Saabs, they do tend to get a little needy with miles, and the cost of repairs escalates quick (specially if you are forced to use the dealer). It is important to have a mechanic that KNOWS Saabs.
It also depends what brand you are coming from (expectations)...You could be stranded on the road with no mechanics nearby (at least that I would trust) that would know the first thing about Saabs.
If money is not an issue, I would try to get something newer, the 9-5 platform has been out there for a long long time with a lot of improvements...if it wasn't for the looks the last generation 9-5 would be my car...
Think about how long you are planning to have the car for since they depreciate a little too quick...
Good luck...BTW, once you drive a Saab, you buy a Saab...
