Brake guide pin lubricant

I recently changed front pads and used the lubricant that came with the Akebono Euro pads on the guide pins. Since I am not sure this is the right type of lubricant, I plan to soon change the grease. Akebono says the black/silver colored one is for the back of the pads and green one is for the pins. They are still checking if the black one is definitely not petroleum based.
What is the best guide pin lubricant?
What is the best way to remove the grease that is there now? Brake cleaner might not be rubber safe? Should I wait for the liquid to be driven off and then just clean up the moly residue?
