Trailer hitch thoughts? Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Tue, 8 Apr 2008 09:57:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2002 9-5 Arc Sedan
Just wondering if anyone has thoughts one way or the other on the Genuine Saab trailer hitch, vs an aftermarket hitch from Da'Lan or such.
From what I've seen, (and please correct me...) the Saab hitch basically replaces only the rear tie-down loop, which is bolted to the spare tire well.
The aftermarket hitch also replaces the tie-down loop, but also has a crossbar that bolts to the side "frame" members, which may or may not provide some additional benefit.
The aftermarket hitch can be had for as little as $150, about 1/3 of what Saab wants for the "official" hitch.
I'm in no rush, as my C900 is hitch-equipped, but it sure would be nice to be able to dolly the 900 someplace...
