I've just bought a 9-5 Linear Wagon 2003 last week-end. Everything seems fine. Engine runs smoothly and is reponsive. I'm almost glad that Saab's lack of image (a la Mercedes Benz) makes it possible to buy these cars at reasonable prices..
But.. reading about "Sludge" problem, that seems linked to the 9-5's technology makesW me worried. The 900's engines seemed less prone to that problem. So, how do I get to know if my car's engine has this problem underlying? and how do I prevent it? can it be completely avoided?? Yes, I ran to the garage today to get oil changed, and I'll do it every 4000miles, but is it enough? Do Saab's garages make the cleaning (flush under pressure)? or any other specialised resource you can suggest? Looking forward to read your answers and suggestions.
