The first thing to do is determine in every way possible what maintenance the car received. If it had oil changes every 5K with synthetic - no worries. If there is no documented history at all from the dealer, glovebox receipts, etc.. I would drop the pan to make sure. My 2001 had only a few changes at the dealer documented before I bought it at 67K. Who knows how many times it went to Jiffy Lube or a local mechanic, since the owner lived 100 miles from the dealer. So I had the pan pulled at 100K and they found very minor sludging and clogging of the screen but felt it was fine once cleaned.
