You are entitled to your opinion of the 9-5 and 5 series. You have owned both and if you like the Saab better; great for you. Most of the points in your post are taste or preference items. But as far as safety goes, it is untrue to say the 9-5 is much safer than the 5 series; in fact below are links to both the USA and Europe carsh tests and you will see that the 5 series protects the driver and passanger better than the Saab. The Saab is slightly better in protecting pedestrains though.
