I don't have jumper cables to use another car, what I do have is one of those 12V 17Ah batteries from an Autozone type place with jumper cables. Are the rules for using those the same? (- first or positive first?) that is just follow the saab owners manual and where it says "good battery" that is the cable to use from my battery booster?
First thing when I get back, can I touch a multimeter to the battery leads and see if there is any voltage to speak of?
Could I have damaged something by cleaning off the cables and terminals with my baking soda + water solution a few weeks back (see jgARC03SW's posts about that, I can't log into my profile when I am on the road on my smartphone fro some reason). I am more worried about electrical system faults than a battery going bad. I didn't leave any lights on, I checked them Saturday morning, but even so don't they get turned off after an hour or so, to save the battery?
TIA again.
