Dispose of the car....... FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1) The 8 year old car is worth about $5K now. In 5 more years it may be worth $2K-$3K....a loss to you of $2K-$3K....for which you have received nothing.
2) Over a 5 year period rubber deteriorates and cracks. All sorts of vacuum and cooling hoses will need to be replaced; or worse, they'll fail when you take the car out for a ride. Any amount of moisture in or entering the braking system can do very expensive damage.
3) Tires: dry rot will take its' toll. If you ignore it, the tires will fail catastrophically when you least expect it. I had a dry-rotted tire fail on the NY Thruway at 10pm, 10 degrees at 65mph; it sucked.
4) Shocks and Struts: Seal failure may be an issue.
5) Storage Costs: Garage and insurance
CONCLUSION: You don't have a rare collectable. What you do have is an 8 year old car that is a bargain on the used car market. Over the next 5 years it will decrease in value, cost a chunk to store and insure, and really set you back in 5 years when you work on restoring it. Some of the deterioration cannot be arrested (rubber).
