YES. That is exactly what I did. Only the green wire was broken in mine, but I soldered in about 3" extra and it has been fine.
One other tip is that you can take the 90 degree plastic thing out of the trunk by just pulling on it. You can also remove the deck lid lining material to get to thing better. IN this way you can be sure there is more slack or extra wire in the bundle and leave some looped inside the trunk door behind the liner where it can't be seen, but gives more slack to the harness.
