Camshaft belt would be the timing belt. The timing belt is how each valve/piston knows when to fire, it has to be done right - think of a helicopter with rotors that intersect and they are geared to make sure the rotor blades don't hit each other.
The serpentine or serp belt is the accessory drive belt. It turns the alternator, powering all the electric stuff while the engine is running, (the battery only starts the car and keeps the inside lights on for a bit when the engine is off) turns the AC compressor, power steering pump, water pump (for engine coolant) etc.
If your serp belt snaps, you might be out a water pump or whatever else it's connected to. The Engine timing belt is more important (see above) since valves hitting each other when out of sync can kill the engine completely.
