It's few or none step by step DIY instruction out there that I know of for the timing belt.
It is lots of info and bits and pieces posted here from throughout the years but no complete guide.
Even if you get the WIS manual it is a handful to follow the steps and they focus a lot on things and tools that I don't even use.
What helps me a lot is the wedge that holds the new belt to the crank sprocket and the two inserts that holds the two cam shafts in place.
When the belt is installed loosely over the sprockets it also helps knowing where the two eccentric pulleys should point at in their basic setup. When I learned that, it helped me a lot with the basic adjustments of the cams and crank.
I nail the belt to the crank sprocket with the wedge and then route the belt backwards over the lower pulley (loosely held in place by bolt) and then over # 4 and then #3 cam sprocket.
The trick though is that when you slowly working your way backwards, you need to remove the cam holder tools so that you can gently pull the #4 sprocket and belt backwards to get it over #3 and then pull on #3 sprocket to get the belt over middle pulley (loose) and #2 and then pull on #2 to get the belt over #1 and then pull on #1 sprocket to get the belt over tensioner pulley.
So you are working off the slack in belt and use it to your advantage at the end to reach over the tensioner pulley.
You can also buy 4 wisegrips and gently clamp the belt to each pulley where after you work your way through. I just use my fingers to keep the belt taught and on the teeth all the way.
Also plan on replacing the coolant thermostat at this time.
