9-5 is my third Saab. I wish for the days have having my 83 900s 3-dr back. poor A/C but the car was reliable at 305k miles! and when it did need repair, either I or someone else could get and repair stuff reasonably. no more. If I just drive by the Saab dealer going to lunch, it cost me $500!!
I am torn. I got to the selling point of this car little over a year ago after spending $3000 in repairs in one year at 100k miles. that's absurd. even Chevy people are having these many problems. for instance. my fuel tank cracked!!! what?? fuel tank cracked? well, guess where it cracked? right where they install the pressure sensor to tell you if it's cracked!!! nice. pre-designed failure spot well covered up! of course dealer has to remove fuel pump to replace tank, right? gues what failed next within 3 weeks??????????? FUEL PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!! both repairs were $900 each!!!!!!! couple months later the A/C quite and dealer said evaporator for $1400!!! I said no thanks. got some fix stuff to put in the system and it worked. put car up for sale. at last minute decided not to sell as thought of new car payments were not good. been OK since. had another $500 for water pump since and little small stuff I fix or tape together. the A/C did go warm again but another shot of the sealant and couple cans of refrig and goinf cold again for several months now. evap must have a small crack. it's only time until it completely goes probably.
anyway, torn b/c I love Saabs but they no longer love me back at the wallet. so my next car? not sure. when they put them on sale in Feb with dealer leftovers like couple years back with in stock leftovers for $10k off for current owners it's hard to resist. but...next car just might have to be a Honda or Hyundai. I dont like styling at all on Toyotas. maybe Acura TL.
