Hi All,
I previously owned an 02 9-5 Aero that was pretty troble free at 90k.
I am planning on buyng this 04 Aero, just over 50k miles, auto, overall looks and drives good. It's for sale by a used car dealer. There are a few things that I did't quite like about it. Just wanted to get a second opinion.
* So first of all there are no service records at all. The only two entries in the service booklet are, I think, oil changes at 15k and 30k. I didn't even see a dealer stamp, just hand written stuff.
* The trans fluid was dark. I know Saab says to change it at 60k, but still...
* The engine oil was dark too, but on my old Aero it was getting dark not too long after an oil change. (Mobile1)
* The tires have decent thread, but fron are different from the rear. Both not an expensive brand.
* I havent seen a carfax yet, but I was told it had 2 owners, I now the second owner bought it as Saab Certified.

The car drove great both on bumpy side roads and on the highway, the engine sonds normal, everything seems to work fine.
Coming to a sudden stop the trans seems to be a little slow shifting from 2nd to 1st, causing a slight clunk. I had the same thing on my old Aero and I've seen other people on this forum why have the same issue. Maybe the bad fluid?
The 2 thing that am worried about the most:
* Possible sludge since I have no service records. (I think 04s have PVC6, but still...
* The transmission(dark fluid at 50k, and 2nd to first gear shift)

Also I will probly be doing mostly 5 mile, 15 minute trips to work (in New Engalnd) Not the best driving conditions for the HOT 2.3!
Thanks for everybody's input in Advance!
