Question on the ubiquitous wheel/hub antiseize practice

Howdy all!
I'm new to the 9-5 world and discovered that my lug nuts evidently loosened up over the past week after I:
1. Applied antiseize to the hub face (the whole thing...had I read more in the archives, I'd have limited it to just the area around the center flange)
2. Applied antiseize to the lug nuts and torqued to 85 ft-lbs.
I had assumed that I simply forgot the final torquing (wouldn't be the first time!), but my brother says he witnessed me doing it, so possibly I need to retry.
I was thinking the thing to do might be to remove said wheel, clean it and the hub surface with some brake cleaner and scotch-brite, then again apply some antiseize around the hub flange, and retorque.
Sound like the right plan?
