When I had the darn thing on my V6 it made a slightly noticeable increase in performance, just because it eliminated that restrictive intake tube from behind the grill to the air filter box. My MPG's went up about 2mpg as well. Nothing to right home about. People here generally look for that turbo spooling sound and "ka-chuuuh" sound made by the bypass valve. But I agree with David Ingram. These small features aren't worth the risk of damaging your engine, and being really nervous about driving through deep puddles. Besides, I felt like an idiot driving around in my 100% stock 9-5 making those kinds of sounds. Sorry, they belong to the ricers.
