Mark, I checked into your theory. I noticed that up around 3K, the noise is definitely less noticeable, but since the spool up is so much faster at that RPM, it makes sense. The noise is only evident during the transition from white to orange on the pressure gauge. If you stay in one gear and keep on the gas just right you can keep the pressure in the zone and the noise will continue. It is a hard to describe noise but does not sound good. Exhaust-leaky-scrapy sounding noise. People look at you when it happens. It is much louder than the normal engine noise as you accelerate. Also, as you go through the gears it can be made in each gear.

But definitely tied to boost pressure not RPM. If I could figure out what valve is opening or closing as the pressure goes positive I am betting it is that valve. Someone suggested motor mounts but, for all the weird effect bad mounts can have, I don't think that is it. maybe I will check anyway.

I just replaced serp and upper mount seemed fine.

Let me know if any of this makes sense. I guess I can just wait until something breaks.

BTW, nice low miles on that aero!
