the wheels are clean as can be. As near as zero dust as possible. They have decent (but not spectacular) bite and the car stops well. It's my wife's car and I'd be hearing about it if they weren't stopping well.
I put them on and left almost immediately on a 1500 mile trip, 80% highway, so they didn't get much normal stop and go break in time. But were fine after the trip. Normal driving is all that's recommended for break-in.
FWIW, I don't think all Akebonos are ceramic, though, so YMMV. Mine were not dusty at all when I pulled them out of the wrappers.
