Below is from a post by Herb Hirsch:
FUEL PUMP?
A1. Attempt to start the car.
A2. Locate the fitting on the fuel rail that looks like a valve stem.
A3. Depress the pin in the center. You should get a robust spray of fuel.
Test Result1: If you do not get a robust spray of fuel you may have a fuel pump/delivery problem.
If Test1 is true check to see if the fuel pump is running.
B1. Raise the back seat.
B2. Remove the round metal cover to access the fuel pump.
B3. Try starting the car. If you can't hear it perhaps the fuel pump has failed.
B4. Connect a voltmeter across the terminals on the fuel pump and check for 12VDC while you are attempting to start the car.
Test Result2: If you have voltage at the fuel pump and you can't hear the pump running......then, the fuel punp may be bad.
Test Result3: If you do not have voltage at the fuel pump, then it is probably OK.
If after the above, you've concluded that the fuel pump is not the problem, then it may be an ignition problem.
IGNITION?
Installation of a spare DI cassette will help eliminate the this as a possibility. After that, you should invite your indie to go at it.
