"Service Theft Alarm" only means one thing. You need a siren.
Here's what WIS (Workshop Information System) says
Battery back-up
The siren has an in-built battery back-up which means that even if the power to the battery is cut (disconnected battery, cut lead), when an alarm is tripped the siren will continue to sound using its integral battery.
The battery life is approx. 10 years.
Note
When it is time to change the battery, the message “SERVICE THEFT ALARM” will be displayed on SID.
You may or may not have a fault code in the system when the battery fails. I've also have had a lot of failures of the batterys well before 10 years.
