I have not done this yet, but plan to next week, I also have a 01 Aero which I bought that was in a minor accident. it spun around and hit a curb so the rear alignment was way out, I just replaced the rear hub and spindle assembly last night with a used assembly. my spindle was bent causing the toe to be way off! but to install the shims it looks like a pretty easy job but I would recomend spraying some WD-40 or something on the hub NOW!!! my hub was frozen on the spindle and would not move at all even with all 4 bolts removed.I tried to remove my bent one just to see how the shims would go in! you will need to remove the tire, and remove the bracket which olds the brake lines, it is attached to the hub studs, then just loosen the rest of the 4 nuts and hopefully your hub will move so you can drop the shims in. you may need to put the tire back on and drop the car a few times if your hub is frozen to the spindle! you don't want to damage the ABS sensor by beating on the hub if its stuck! my car goes in for a alignment next week then I will do the shims once I get the toe fixed!
