I've also found that a bad orange relay can cause false failure messages on the SID for the rear lights. That relay is definitely a common trouble point. Mine failed and was replaced under warranty. The replacement also failed and I opened it up and reflowed the solder connections. That fixed it for a while, but it is now failing again and I need to repeat the process. I think I've only had one valid lamp failure message in the 8 years that I have owned my 9-5, but bazillions of false alarms. For me, this warning system is like the little boy who cried wolf.
