Not sure how much this will help, but I replaced the broken blend door stop arm only to find the problem was not fixed! There is a very small "stepper motor" inside each side and visible when the blend door cover is removed. This houses the tiny motor and a couple of gears. The armature of the motor and gear can slip out of alignment over time and completely miss contacting with other gears in the housing.
I removed tne motor and tapped gently on the end with the gear, slowly moving the gear and shaft back into the motor housing. It was out of alignment a whole 1/8 inch, but when corrected, you should see the motor shaft clearly at the opposite end of the motor / end bearing.
Has worked flawlessly ever since.
