David, the ABS wiring harness for non-TCS and TCS is different. There are some extra pins if it has TCS.
If you plugged in a non TCS controller into a TCS harness, I'd imagine at a minimum, you get errors from lack of signal on those wires. If those signals are missing, there is a chance that the TCS and/or the ABS would be automatically disabled.........
Do you have WIS? If so, it might be worth taking a look at the signal carried on those wires and see where they go and what happens if there is a fault detected on them if you were considering a non-TCS replacement
