Hi,
Just before Christmas my 1999 V6 left me stranded. Since I could not be 1005 sure it was the CPS I had the car transported to the dealer. They threw in a new sensor and sure enough no problems since.
However, now that everyone is sober again and therfor the daily commute is back to crawling stop & go, I noticed a burned smell at long standstill. I checked this morning and there is oil leaking from the left front of the engine, dripping on the front exhaust pipe. That is about the place of the sensor.
The engine otherwise has not been touched and has never leaked a drop of oil.
So the question is this: can the engine leak oil in these quantities from the CPS? Can it leak oil anyway from there? And how can they have blown such a simple repair? I mean: put in the sensor and tighten down, how hard can THAT be??
a slightly frustrated
