so sounds like same problem others have. thump the lower area and it comes on (moaning and complaining). so, guess on to researching the brushes vs new fan motor. sounds like an OK DIY. the cabin filter in my old NG900 required getting basically to the blower so I think I can do it on the 9-5. my old 900s (1983) I had to pull the whole dash to replace the fan cage (cracked but motor was fine and had 305k miles!). can't get stuck without AC once winter is over here in south FL (about Feb 27!).
