I ordered those replacement brushes and removed the blower assembly, however when I attempted to file them down one cracked into numerous pieces so on to plan B which was to strech out the springs on the existing brushes, clean the commutator up a bit and reinstall.
It's close to a year later and it still works - but I did do away with the cabin filter to take the load off the motor.
Like Ian observed the commutator appeared to be badly worn down - but it is still working.
I spoke with the e euro guys a few months back and they were working on getting a cheaper replacement than the $ 200 something oem motor - that is a completley absurd price for a cheap dinky motor, I'd buy one of those fans that sit on the dash before I'd spend that kind of $$$$ .
