We just bought a Radian 65 today (a car seat with 5pt harness that will go up to 65lbs), so I am also interested in this. As I understand it, the government regulations are that the anchors must support a combined weight (seat + child) of 65lbs. So for a 20lb carseat 45 lbs of child is fine if the car meets regulations. Above that, it`s hard to say, which is why Britax has that line in the manual. There`s probably lots of margin, but it`s a matter of liability so I can see why the information might be hard to obtain, especially if it was only tested to meet spec...

In our case, we`re securing it using a seat belt (no LATCH in our car). The Frontier is a booster rather than a car seat, so that complicates things wrt using a belt (I don`t think you can do it). BTW, there is a Radian 80 in the US (but not here in Canada - Transport Canada won`t allow it), and it can be secured to the car using either LATCH or seat belt. I`m not sure what you`re using now, but the Radian fits *much* better in our Saab than the Britax Marathon did. We can fit 3 across (or 2 + an adult).
