Start simple, check all the fuses.
Yes, you can use a good red DI to diagnose DI failure, just dont go out and flog on her since red cassettes do not have the knock protection circuit built into them like the black do.
Pop the cover off the fuel pump under the rear seat and remove the harness and check for the pump kicking on when you turn the key from off to the run position. It will only be for a second or so. If you do not hear anything, pull the harness off and check for voltage across ground (chassis) and the larger/thicker red feed wire. Cycle key and see if you get voltage, if so then your pump is fried. If you don't get voltage then suspect fuel pump relay or fuse.
You are able to test CPS and DI by removing DI with a plug inserted into unit and grounding plug base out on engine. When cranking, you should see spark. If not, suspect bad DI cassette or CPS.
