My 2001 AERO automatic has absolutely no vibration at all. It is in at some points as smooth if not smoother than I best friends Acura CL-S V6. I can imagine that with the manual you might get some vibrations at certain rpm, but it seems a small tradeoff for such a wonderful engine. I remember some magazines commenting on how much more refined the 4 cylinder is with the auto vs the manual. I agree that the AERO would need a six for increased market share but at the same time it is SAABS way to be different for good technical reasons. Aside from some small refinement differences, there is no technical reason to have a six. A six gives no benefit except smoothness. It does weigh more, give less economy and may be more complex. Give me the AERO 4 any day.
