You make a very important point, namely that the Halo car is an image tool first, and a car that people actually will buy second. The problem is that to build and offer for sale the image tool, a company must first put up the money to produce and certify it,in all of it's different itterations(auto, manual, sedan, wagon etc.) For a company with BMW,Mercedes, and Audi to do that with thier respective performance divisions was not that much of a stretch, but for Saab,I think it goes through a different decision process. I think that they will need to justify the direct sales effect on those models to be able to justify spending what it will take to bring them over here. Mercedes and BMW sell roughly 200,000 cars per year here. Audi, about 75,000. Saab this year, about 40,000. As a businessman,I can see why they need to expmine something like tis very carefully. The cost of bringing in another model like this, when the place they are loosing sales is not in the high performance market, but the crossover and mundane transportation market. Sounds hard to take for a performance oriented person, but this is where people are really putting thier money.BMW only sells about 2,000 M cars per year here. Mercedes about the same in AMG product.Compare that ration to their total US sales, and you can extrapolate that Saab would sell very few "Hirsch " modified cars here.I would want one, but I doubt that the market is really there to justify the costs.
