Test drove an '02 Boxster yesterday ... ;-(

So I've had this terrible case of convertible fever lately. Whatchagonnado. So I tested a very pretty '02 Boxster. I thought I'd be driving something quick and spritely. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed.
My main ride is an '03 9-5 Aero 5spd.
The Boxster, to be completely honest, felt quite slow and heavy. Even though it has about 217hp and 200something ft/lb of torque (and is much lighter than my Aeroa) I felt as though my Saab could have run circles around this Boxster.
What's up? Have my senses been brainwashed by my Saab? I know we're talking Turbo vs. NA but still. That little boxer 6 engine felt really, really weak. Sounded great, but I felt like I could have sat there and made this post as I waited for it to rev up in between gear changes.
