I don't know what the hangup could be but just to clarify.
The electric motor is capable of rotating 360° which can move it out of sync quite a bit as far as the blend arm goes.
The only way to get the motor back into the right "zip code" is to hook it up to the electric harness, start the engine and run a self calibration sequence of the ACC.
Sometimes you need to do that several times before the motor has moved enough to allow you to insert it into the blend arm again.
