The logic of this article doesn't hang together. However much GM may fear SAAB competing with Opel, they're committed to selling SAAB, and the new 9-5 has GOT to be a major selling point, given how long in the tooth the current SAAB lineup is. Then, with SAAB cranking out the new 9-5 under its new ownership, GM becomes a supplier for the "Epsilon II" platform, which will be a revenue producer. GM's overriding goal has to be to get back in the black before our new, improved socialist government shuts them down altogether. Divestiture of SAAB is a step in that direction....and, as far as I am concerned, if SAAB survives the transition it's the best thing in the long run for us SAABers, as well.
