Head gaskets do go on the V6, it happened to my daughters 1999 9-5.
The front bank had a coolant leak that would spray out when it got up to operating temp.
If the heads are warped, they go to a machine shop to be skimmed, which flattens the bottom, it's a good idea to have it done anyway.
The whole job ran about $2500 at an indy, which included a bunch of new hoses, waterpump, timing belt etc.
