I think I saw this photo during the research phase of the job, either here or on the other site. This very same photo was burned into my mind today as I debated whether to get the third or not...but I'm going to just drive. I know I'll get hit with a big repair in a few months AND I can live with the very subdued clunk, compared to what it was, from R to D and back.
What I found interesting was that I was able to move the joystick mount freely up and down by an inch or more it's almost as if the fluid leaked out of the unit. It was also tilted back! When I removed the mount from the frame I could see a small amount of oil yellow/brown residue underneath the mount in the cavity.
