As a follow up to my issue "Turbo gone????? of 13 July. After getting to engine for a preliminary check regarding a possible timing chain problem as suggested, I decided to remove the top of the timing chain cover just enough to see if the belt was even still there. It was and looked fairly good but I have not yet checked to see if it slipped. For reasons beyond me I decided to remove both DCI's and the plugs also. I found little oil fouling on a few but plug #6 (lower extreme right) I found damage on the anode as if it were crunched and flattened. I'm going to try to attach a photo for FYI if anyone is interested. I don't want to accept what I see but I fear the worst. Lesson learned for buying used with no good service history available but I thought that I could TLC it back to healthy. As always, comments, suggestions laughter, jeers and sympathy appreciated. Thanks guys for all of your input on original issue.
