...yeah something is seriously wrong if your plug is bashed in. There is no way the piston could have touched it unless the rod was thrown, or maybe the piston hit a valve and jammed the valve into the plug head. A picture would be interesting to see.
If you put a jack under the oil pan with a 2x4 between them and raise the engine a bit you can remove the upper passenger side engine mount bracket, serp belt, and then the timing cover to see what's going on in there. Keep us posted please!
By the way, it's not the end of the world. You can find a used V6 engine cheap these days if you decide to keep the car...
