While I agree with Herb, I also think that you should look at the brake discs yourself (very easy with most Saab wheels). Pretty much ANY concentric grooving of the rotor (not to be confused with "slotting" across the surface) is bad. Yes you can (and we all do...) run it for a long time like that, but you'll never get a new set of pads to bed in on that surface, and even if you do, by the time you get there, the pads are half gone.
Get a second opinion from someone you trust.
