Sedan rear headrest broken - help? Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Tue, 28 Jul 2009 17:40:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have never heard of this one before... I went to fold the rear headrest down in my 2004 9-5 sedan and the button depressed all the way and stayed there, the headrest flopped down, but it will not lock back into any upright positions! I have it out of the car but I can't see into it to see the mechanism. Not a big deal as most of the time they're folded down but I don't like having passengers fiddling with things to discover they are broken. Doesn't make Saab look good.
They definitely changed the internals of these hummers between 2001 and 2004. The ones in my '01 felt really sturdy and you could just push the button gently and they'd fold. The newer ones are really flimsy feeling and you have to jiggle them back and forth while pressing the button hard to get them to fold down. It was one of the first hidden decontents I noticed when I folded them down for my test drive. Grr.
