Should I drop the oil pan?

I recently had my 2003 9-5 Aero's oil pressure checked. The result was 14psi and hot idle and 30psi at 2000RPM. The shop's recommendation was to drop the oil pan to take a look at it, and then potentially replace it with the trick oil pan depending on how much sludge there is.
What would you recommend in this situation? This check was done at a well-known indy dealer; I talked to my local Saab dealership and they seemed to think 30psi wasn't too bad (spec is 36psi, I think).
Dropping the pan without replacing it is estimated at around $600, and obviously I would like to avoid as much unnecessary cost as possible. If I should really have it done, would doing it myself be relatively straightforward (I don't have a lot of mechanical experience myself, although I could recruit some who do.)?
In addition, on the bill it says "PCV flow 0ccm, needs update." What does the 0ccm part mean? By update, is it assumed that I should replace with the latest PCV system? I've seen online that that is another DIY fix that should be fairly inexpensive.
Sorry for the length of this post. For those of you who made it this far and have some advice to offer, thanks for your help!
