Tony:
At 60K miles (96,000 km), I had already replaced both my front sway bar links. No matter how tight you torque all your suspension bolts, that will not heal a link's worn top or bottom mini-ball joint. See this link to eEuroparts, site sponsor, for the bar link part...

It takes only a tiny bit of joint play to enable a very noticeable clunk over sharp bumps. If it is a sway bar link, it should be especially noticeable when only front wheel or the other passes over a bump. That loads the swaybar unevenly which really exposes the symptom.
I found which side was worn by jacking up the front end on stands and applying up and down pressure on the sway bar links with a variety of blocks and prybars. Both left and right tires must be either on a ramp OR up in the air so the sway bar does not have a twist on it. That would load the links and make it difficult to find the worn one.
A very common wear item. Main ball joint on A -arm is next suspect. A bad main bushing (rear of A-arm) is a third possibility. Somer folks get a clunk in the upper strut bushing but I think 60k miles is a bit early for that.
