I too have wondered about that. I'm OK with the car's current performance level but I can't get the boost indicator to go into the red no mater how hard I push the car (2001 95 2.3). Wondered if it was just that I bought the car with 115K (now 158K) and it just wasn't able to reach that level anymore. So were I ever to see it go it in the red, that's a bad thing? Seems odd.
