Yes, that is about the skinny of it and the cheapest way to go.
One BIG caution though. If you ONLY have ONE key for the car. You should go the other route and get an all-in-one key and get it programmed because if you loose the only key you have, you are out of luck and it will cost a lot more money to get the car running again. Much more than the $600.00 quoted from the dealer.
