A sign does not pop up on TECH2 and say "air leak here"....having a TECH2 is one thing...having a knowledgeable operator with it is quite another.
Air mass deviation from known (calculated) values wth the TECH2 can tell you a HUGE amount about air leaks....
It is measured at idle, and at 55 mph.....the 2 numbers create a "graph".....the shape of that graph: 1.)upwards to the right..... or 2.)level.... or 3.)downwards to the right....tell the repair technician where BEGIN to troubleshoot....
YES, Air leaks after the maf will indeed show up on the TECH2, ABSOLUTELY YES...
I concur with what jimmy posted....
Hint on air leak from recent personal experiences.....there is a skinny o-ring at the base of the turbo inlet pipe that leaks, and another (smaller) one on the turbo bypass pipe...together, BOTH cost less then $6 bucks total.
Installing the skinny one on the turbo inlet pipe....be patient, and make sure you get the clamp mounted correctly on the pipe and turbocharger...it's not a slam-bang install....more times than not, SAAB techs tell me they see where the o-ring is not seated correctly, or worse, the o-ring is actually broken in the installation process....
