Total time required was 4 hours, which included all set-up, clean-up, and a break for lunch. My car has 261,000+ miles, and I was replacing the factory original ball-joints which had developed a "bang" sound on tight parking lot turns.
Tools required were: two breaker bars, two short extensions, deep 18mm socket, deep 13mm socket, shallow 18mm socket, long profile 18mm and 13mm combination wrenches, channel-lock pliers, ball peen hammer, rubber mallet, and stubby flat blade screwdriver to use as a wedge.
Don't believe the instructions in the WIS. The ball joint has to be bolted to the lower a-arm before the stub is inserted in the stering knuckle. Doing it in the sequence as the WIS instructs will almost certainly result in the rubber gaiter getting pinched by the A-arm and torn.
Oh yeah, don't store your new ball-joints in an unheated garage in late fall prior to doing the job. Bring them indoors to warm and loosen the grease so you can flex the joints easily during installation.
