Perhaps someone here (Anders?) could clarify whether it is possible on the 9-5 AW transmission to do something like replacing the accumulator springs in the valve body.
I did this once on the valve body in the ZF4hp18 transmission of a Saab 9000. The springs cost $20 or so, taking the valve body out of the transmission was fairly easy. This was the thing to do to get rid of slamming and revving between gear changes.
Standard Saab procedure in this case was to change the valve body to the tune of indeed $2000 or so. They don't go any 'deeper' than valve body level, and I'm sure this is also the case re. the 9-5 AW transmissions.
I would think a specialized transmission shop could sort this out fairly cheaply. The official Saab workshop procedure says ' replace valve body' :-((
