(Serp belt)
once the dealer replaced my original long-belt I got lots of vibration noise, esp at idle and under extra strain (like A/C running and or power steering pump when turning the steering wheel). they then told me was tensioner. OK, I'll buy that. notta. out another $300 and no change. they ignored me for a freak afterwards. they do good wiper blade replacements though! (sarcasm). later I discovered the whole newer short-belt thing where the newer belt bypasses a center pulley. fine but now I believe that longer section of straight belt flaps and make noise while under stress. IMHO. I have yet to go back to long-belt as afraid that center pulley will need replacement too since just sitting there probably siezing up. maybe some day. I just turn the AC off when turning in parking lots if I dont want to hear the noise!
