Typically tires with longer wear ratings are not performance tires and vice versa. So, performance tires will wear out sooner-just given the nature of the tire and the vehicle it is used on. Is this supposed to be surprising?
IMremember when the Acura NSX came out and owners filed a class action lawsuit over the poor treadlife of the OEM tires (sometimes 5k miles). What do you expect of tires on a car that can pull .90 on a skidpad, do 0-60 in under 6 seconds, has a top speed of over 160mph?. Some of those buyers in the lawsuit were probably first time supercar buyers who thought that buying an Acura brand supercar meant Honda like maintenance and repairs. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
