All,
I have an on 06 9-5 SC with 46k miles. For a little while I've had a little ping or rattle when the turbo is in the white zone and I'm accelerating. To really here it you need to have the radio and AC off. There are no check engine lights. For the record, I've been using 87 or 89 unleaded for fillup from reputable gas stations.
I brought the car to my local Saab dealer who I've had very good luck with, he said the car SHOULD be able to run on 87-89 without pinging/rattle, althought I will lose a bit in performance. He said the MAF should be able to adjust to 87 or 89 without a problem. He thought I should run a few more tanks of gas as maybe I got some bad gas. If it continues, then perhaps the MAF is bad.
Anyways, the ping/rattle is still there under accelleration.
My question, do you think it is the MAF Sensor and should the car be able to run without unusual noises on 87 or 89. I'm aware the performance is off a bit when using this gas which is fine with me.
THanks
