Just wanted to point out that unlike the stepper motors for blend doors and distribution, the recirculation motor is a DC motor. It simply gets voltage applied to it by ACC for a certain amount of time (or reversed) and that's it. The problem is that all the gears inside the motor are plastic. In my case the arm was OK, but all the gears inside the motor scrambled into a big mush, and the motor wouldn't budge (wasn't making any noise when recirc was turned on or off). I had to change the whole motor to fix the problem (I managed to source a used one).
ACC never threw any codes about broken motor. I guess it would only detect an open or short circuit, which was not the case.
